"But make sure if its an RD that they have a background in sports nutrition. If it’s a certified nutrition consultant, make sure they are Precision Nutrition certified and/or a Certified Nutritionist from the International Society of Sports Nutrition (CISSN)."

that's a very solid point about checking into your nutritionists background. most dieticians are trained to help clients how to eat in order to deal with acute problems (they spend a year interning at a HOSPITAL working with sick people), such as kidney failure for instance, and have absolutely no clue how to eat in order to lose weight, gain muscle, or maximize athletic performance. in four years of college, not a single one of my nutrition classes taught a thing about weight loss or building muscle.

and i agree with you about the Precision Nutrition program, that certification is top-notch. id trust a Precision Nutrition certified nutritionist over a typical Registered Dietician any day

That is exactly what I meant by cardiovascular training. While I do agree that fat loss can be achieved without any energy systems training, you can say the same about strength training, and nutrition as well. This is why I said "optimal" fat loss. For optimal fat loss, it is mandatory that you follow all three- proper resistance training, proper cardiovascular (energy systems) training, and proper nutrition.

im sure its possible to achieve fat loss without any specific energy system training (i assume that's what you mean when you say "cardiovascular training"). good trainers know that there's more than one way to get results, and that energy system training is only one helpful, but not mandatory, way of doing things

Thanks Valentine....Unfortunately most people who start up a fitness program expect GREAT results after 2 weeks of hard training or less. They don't realize greatness takes time. People have to start to value delayed gratification. I'm not to going to be a hypocrite because when I want things I want it now, who doesn't. However, I know my body doesn't work that way. Too bad most people think their body works that way... Seriously WTF... An example of common sense not being so common :-)

A wise man once told me to do the things you hate to do the most in order to grow. So you must've done a lot of growing since the BSS is your favorite exercise.

My favorite exercise is the Bulgarian Split Squat only because I HATE it so much. I always dread doing them and the thought of it elevates my heart rate. :oP
